We had a lovely Thanksgiving dinner this year. For the last two years Spencer's call schedule has landed him in the hospital for Thanksgiving Day. That of course means we get two Thanksgiving dinners--one with our family and the other with friends. Spence had the day before Thanksgiving off so we treated that as our family day. Spencer and I cooked all day while the boys played downstairs. We put together puzzles, watched some good family shows, and honestly I can't remember else. But what I do remember is we had a wonderful day together as a family. I remember Spencer and I talking about how perfect the day had went. It was fun being in our home, cooking our own big Thanksgiving dinner and being happy and content on a winter day spending time with our awesome boys! Per tradition, we went around the table talking about all the things we are grateful for. The boys challenged Spencer to name 100 things he was grateful for--and with ease Spencer accomplished it. The boys thought he was pretty funny while doing so. The boys this year were grateful for the earth, grass, trees, toys, books, grandma's, and our home.
On Thursday, Thanksgiving day, we were graciously invited to Ashley and JD Rutledges home for dinner. Nick and Cassi Orme and Ben and Heidi Allen also joined us. We make quite the foursome--all of our children have a good buddy in the group which makes the kids super happy. The Rutledge Girls (or as we call them our "sisters") had a rainbow loom and let all the boys make their own bracelets which are a total craze right now in the elementary schools. They all had a blast and played really well together. We are lucky and blessed to have such wonderful friends!
