Spring Field Trips

Spring days with Kate and Tanner

These two are so much fun. They have become the best of friends. Kate LOVES to chase Tanner around. One of my favorite things to do in the Spring is to sit outside and watch the kids play-- or join in with them! Kate is hilarious to watch because she just follows Tanner where he goes. He's a good sport and lets her tag along for the ride.

Spring Piano Recital

Reece and Benson had their piano recital at the South Towne Mall. It was really cool. They had 5 grand pianos and for most songs had 10 people playing at a time. The kids loved it! Both boys were super prepared and did a great job. It was fun watching them.  They may have been extra prepared for the recital (I wanted to make sure they held their own for the duets) and during one of the songs Benson was dancing while looking all over the mall with the goofiest face. The lady next to me was cracking up and asked if I knew the kid--yep, I did, it was Benson Miller my son.  We were both laughing, it was quite the sight. The other funny part was at home while they were practicing together.  They would make up silly songs and sing them while playing together. It was hysterical.

April 2017 Happenings

Happy 9th birthday Tucker! We love having Tucker spend time at our house. We like to call him our half-brother. We got him a pogo-stick so he can join the boys running around he neighborhood on these fun things!
This picture is a snap-shot into mine and Benson's life. Every 3 days we have to change his pump site and every 2 weeks we change his sensor site.  To make it easy and quick-- I let Benson play on my iPhone to distract him. It makes it go smooth and quick.

Spencer and I went on a date with our good friends Brandon and Christine George to the Tulip garden at Thanksgiving point. The flowers truly were beautiful. It was fun to see the different combinations of tulips and their bright colors.
This darling girls has picked every singe tulip from our front yard.  She picks it and then brings it to me and says, "for you mommy".  Such a darling gesture-- I can't even get mad because it's so genuine and sweet.
CLEAR SKIN! It's a miracle-- we have to document these moments.
Spring Baseball! Benson had the best coach ever. He loved these kids and worked so hard on their confidence.  I felt like he was an angel sent from heaven. He was just what Benson needed.  He spent extra time with these kids and even paid to have them see a University of Utah baseball game and took them to pizza after.  Here's a message he sent him after a game once, "dude, you did awesome tonight.  I'm super proud of what a good team mate you were.  When Tucker got up to hit the first ending, I heard you cheering for him clear from where I was standing at first base.  Also, I think that really helped the team cheer each other on and helped your team mates have fun, and when kids have fun playing baseball...they play better, and when they play better, the team wins!  Also, you had a great attitude when I pulled you off of third so Bridger could have a chance to play in the infield.  You did what was best for the team, that is what being a team is all about my man.  Therefore, I am making you team captain for our next game against the cardinals.  Good work dude, I'm proud of you.  Nice work...Coach out!"
Tanner has been an all-star in preschool this year. They had a spring program and he was absolutely ADORABLE!! I had a hard time not crying watching him be brave and sing his heart out. Love him!

Aunt Natalie was in town with her boyfriend. We went to a Jazz game later that night! It was great having Natty around. We love her!

Congrats Dad! Spencer was chosen as the Chief for the University of Utah Cardiology program for next year! He's an amazing doctor and works so hard to learn everything he needs to know to help those around him.
Benson and his machine. He came home, put this together, and did everything on his own with very little help. I was so impressed.
We LOVE Lisa's Falls! It's a quick 10 minute drive from our house and is one of our families favorites.  It's a quick 5 minutes hike to a waterfall and then there are tons of places to explore.

We took our good friend Abby and her family to Lisa's fall. It was fun having her family around--they have 5 boys so they fit in just perfect with our family.
Another lovely flower picked just for me! Thanks Kate!
Benson and Me celebrating after a great diabetes check.  The Nurse was super impressed with our numbers which made us both proud.  We celebrated with Pizza from the Pizza Pie Cafe.

Easter 2017

The Easter Bunny came and left a little treat! We did the usual Easter Sunday outfits, Easter egg hunt, dyed eggs, and most importantly remembered our Savior and went to church! It was a wonderful Easter.

Aren't these kids amazing!! They aren't just beautiful and handsome on the outside-- but they are even better on the inside! I love everything about them. I am a lucky Mom to have them as my own.

Spring Break 2017

We had an awesome spring break. We worked hard (we cleaned every morning so we started the day with a fresh clean house--which equals a happy mama!) and then we played. Here are some things we did:
The ice cream truck came and these kids went wild! They ran to their rooms, got their piggy banks out, and paid WAY TO MUCH for some ice cream bars. But, they were happy!
After the ice cream truck we started making home made pizza.  Kate ended up going into anaphylactic shock and so I left all the kids at home and rushed her to the hospital. I gave her one epi-pen at home and then had to give another at the hospital.  I wasn't sure what she reacted too-- at first I thought we had some cross contamination with the cheese on the pizza, but 2 weeks later we were eating ham and she had another anaphylaxsis and so we put two and two together and realized she's allergic to Pork. I took her to the allergist and told him we needed to test her to see if there were other allergies we weren't aware of.  When I told him she was allergic to pork, his exact words were "that can't be, no one is allergic to pork-- it's a very rare allergy". I assured him that she was allergic and when the test came back super positive I wanted to say "told you so!"
The next day we went to the Zoo with Tucker and the cousins. It was a beautiful warm day. We loved it-- and especially loved watching the kids run around enjoying the fresh spring air.
Tanner considers himself a "wolfie" so naturally he picked the wolf and his heart was so HAPPY!

We also spent a day at our favorite museum--the Museum of Curiosity.  The kids LOVE this place so much! After a couple hours we went to the Natural History Museum and watched what we thought was going to be a cool movie but ended up being a totally LAME movie promoting Global warming.

After the museum and the movie we stopped by the library and picked up some comic books-- as you can see they were all hooked and the place was dead quiet! haha
We spent a day playing in the mountains in our backyard. We hiked the Bells Canyon trail and the kids LOVED it! There were a lot of switch backs which allowed them to hide and be crazy.
After the hike we came home and enjoyed the slackfline. The kids somehow convinced me to get on the roof-- their favorite thing to do.  Being outside makes our family happy!

 PARK CITY SKI TRIP!
My Dad invested in Marriott hotels and so we get hotels for dirt cheap! We looked at the website and found a HUGE condo for $99/night. It came with a fully stocked kitchen, separate bedroom, and huge living room. We were honestly in heave.  When we bought our family ski pass through Alta it came with 2 free tickets (per person) to Deer Valley and so we decided to take a little trip to Park City and enjoy the cheap hotel and free ski tickets! And....can I just tell you how much fun Deer Valley was! We had the resort to ourselves and it was super fancy.  I felt like a famous person skiing there.  There were multi-million dollar cabins next to all the ski runs with really beautiful cabins and fun things for us to look at.  The kids said we have to do this trip again next year because it was a total blast! Plus--spending time with these kids is a pure joy. They are hilarious, adventurous, and so fun!
