Diabetes walk 2016

Diabetes Walk 2016
September 24th, 2016
Salt Lake City, UT

My awesome friend, Ashley Rutledge put this together for Benson.  We gave her the idea and the words and she made it look amazing. We ordered t-shirts for everyone that came and walked with Benson to support him with his diabetes. It was a really fun event even though it rained the first 30 minutes.  We were super excited to see that Benson's poster was the very first one at the start of the race/walk.  We still haven't found anyone diagnosed at an earlier age then him.  We are so proud of Benson and his great attitude towards diabetes. Love you buddy!

Benson loves taking care of his baby cousins.  This is him and baby Max (only 3 weeks old) before the race.
 Cousin picture before the race!
Grandma blo, Kate and baby Max!
Benson's poster at the front of the race-- check out the pouring rain! We were brave-- just like Benson.

Our best friend Tucker came with us too! The kids had a blast running all around the park while the grown-ups pushed strollers and walked along the path.

The whole crew! Candice, Charlotte and Tess Buchanan, Aunt Di and Sarah, Grandma Blo, Kristi, Buck, Myla, and Max Colbert, Tucker McIllece, and our family!

Two little cousins!

September 16-18th, 2016

September 16-18th
During Benson's soccer game Kate grabbed some ritz crackers, plopped on Grandmas legs and started  chowing down.
Benson was an all star at his game today! He scored a goal and was a team player.

Aunt Candice carrying Tess while being 8 months pregnant!
After the Soccer game we took Grandma on a hike around Brighton ski resort. It was so beautiful.  The fall colors were stunning and the weather was perfect!
We ended the day at Kendra Buchanans wedding reception! Dad was gone this weekend working in Montana so we could buy a ski pass at Alta this year. Grateful for a hard working Daddy!
It's been a tradition since we were first married to go on a Sunday walk. Today we walked to Tucker's house.  Kate sat in the swing and bulldozed her brothers.  They all were laughing so hard! The weather has been PERFECT!

Monday is laundry day-- Sunday night I have everyone bring up their laundry and sort it in my bedroom.  Monday morning I wash and dry all the clothes and then fold them at night.  The kids then take their clothes and put them away after school on Tuesday.  Lil' miss Kate loves to be my helper-- she puts the clothes in the washer and dryer and then plays in the hampers.
Every time Kate takes a bath she puts her goggles on her head and starts playing. It's the cutest thing!
Grandma Miller let Kate borrow this toy for our road trip. It's become her favorite toy in the car and she insists on having it on her lap every time we get in to go somewhere. And that hair band she is wearing is from Grandma Blo. It's it adorable!

September 1-15th, 2016

We got together with some of our best friends, Brandon and Christine George from BYU for a little BBQ.  Reece found a snake and was in heaven.  They have a boy named Riley who also has food allergies and so they made a chocolate oreo pie that all the kids could eat and it was a HUGE hit!
Now that the boys are in school, these two rascals have become good friends (well, when Kate's not bugging Tanner anyway).
BYU vs Utah game! We all got decked out in our BYU apparel-- even the Miller Goose got his game shirt on.  During the game Mr. Goose was vandalized with some U of U apparel.  Then the next day while we were at church someone else put U of U stickers all over him. We thought it was funny and decided to BYU BOMB the culprits.

Reece's best friend from Rochester surprised Reece and came to visit.  A week before he came was the BYU vs. Utah football game and a couple people in our neighborhood put U of U paraphernalia on our BYU goose.  We decided to get revenge and "BYU bomb" some of our Ute friends who live nearby.

Grandma came to visit which is always fun! Since the boys were little they have tried over and over again to beat Grandma in arm wrestling.  She always wins and the boys often say she's the toughest person they know.
Check out these cute kiddos! I often find them chasing each other all over the house.  Then they crash on the floor and I take a picture! ha.

I'm the 1st Counselor in the YW program and I only have two girls-- Rachel Jessee and Mckenna Lake.  Mckenna couldn't come so Rachel and I decided to go out for some yummy ice cream! She's also become a favorite babysitter of ours as well.
Little miss Kate thinks she is hilarious when she climbs in the front seat and buckles her seat belt. She wants to grow up to fast-- we gotta slow her down.
It's tradition for Benson and I to go get a treat after his diabetes appointment as long as we have a good A1C! We have met our goals every appointment and so we have had lots of fun celebrations.  This time we went to the Pizza Pie Cafe for lunch.
This little beauty loves to sneak into Mom and Dad's bed around 5am.  I can't say no because she's such a sweet little snuggle buddy.
We were shopping at Trader Joes and I turned around to tell Kate to follow me and she had grabbed a strawberry and started eating it-- we ended up getting strawberries that day!

This girl loves taking pictures!! I LOVE her shoes and wanted to remember them because I have seriously been obsessed over them-- so I told her we were going to take a picture and she got in position, gave me a darling smile, and we snapped the picture. This is one of my favorites of her--she's 22 months old and it shows her personality perfectly.

Tanners first day of Preschool--Sept 7th

Tanner-man was super excited for preschool to start. This is his second year at Swenson Station and he was ready to take it by storm!
Before school started we went to Old Navy to pick out a new shirt for the 1st day.  He found this one rather quickly and it was a done deal! Cute little stinker!

Boise trip for Natalie's 16th birthday and to meet baby Max

We decided to come back to Boise for Labor day weekend so we could celebrate Natalie's 16th birthday and see Max who was born just a couple days before that.
 Max Colbert
These two toddlers are hilarious together. They are 3 weeks apart and play well together.
 RED ROBIN birthday dinner
It's tradition to take the family out to Red Robin when someone has a birthday.  The big boys came with us since it was Braydens birthday too.

These kids are hilarious. Natalie went to the bathroom and so they quickly jumped up and wrote this on the chalkboard.

We ended the night with a big bon fire! Dad went a little crazy with the fire but it was fun.
On our drive home we always stop by the Catmulls to say Hi.  Our kids are the same ages and they have a ton of fun together.  I hope they always share this special cousin bond as they get older.
