My awesome boys!
Cuddle time.
I've had such a fun time with the boys these past couple weeks. They are growing so fast and are becoming funnier as the days go by (I am very biased!). Here are some simple things that make me laugh daily:
Reece and his shades!
Reece:
Benson:

Wednesday morning I was doing the laundry and talking on the phone when I opened our office to find Reece and Benson playing Scrabble together!! How cute!
Spencer:
Reece and his shades!
*Reece loves to snuggle and read. He loves learning about dinosaurs, animals, bugs, weather, how things work, and whether or not an animal/insect is good or bad.
*He's decided he is ready to be independent and do things on his own (get dressed, brush his teeth, go potty, etc.). Benson received a lot of extra attention this past year and Reece's way of dealing with it was becoming totally dependent on me to insure him more attention. I am VERY happy to report he is exiting this stage.
*We had a lesson in Preschool about healthy foods and ever since Reece is fearless in the food department & loves to eat healthy foods!! Wahooo! He loves to eat apples, bananas, carrots, broccoli, salmon, fruit shakes, chocolate soy, quesadillas, and mashed potatoes. This is a HUGE step for Reece (he only had 7 different foods he would eat his whole 2nd year of life).
*Reece's ingenuity. Reece and Benson share bunk beds, Reece on top and Benson on bottom. He has taught Benson to get out of bed, grab a book, and push it against the wall to the top bunk so Reece can read a new book. It's always a party when they go to bed. Sometimes I just sit and listen to them chatting, laughing, and being silly. Reece reads a book to Benson almost every night.
*Reece is a great older brother. He loves taking care of Benson and is impressively good at playing and including him in his activities.
*Reece always includes Kristi and Grandma Blow(my mom) in his prayers. If he ends his prayer without blessing them he says, "I forgot to bless Kristi and Blow". It's cute.
*He is very sensitive--he tells me all the time how much he misses his Grandma's and Grandpa's in Boise and also his friend Jackie. Today he told me Jackie moved to Florida so she could see a Hurricane. He was worried the Hurricane was going to "break her".
*Reece's enthusiam for his first chore: get out of bed, go potty, and get dressed. He then runs downstairs and tells me all about it! He's been throwing his clothes in the hamper with his diaper still in it (he still wears one at night) and yesterday I found 2 diapers in my washer. DISGUSTING. I about died.

*My 1st Mother's day present from my children: Reece made me flowers that had chores or things he would do for me on each flower. He pulls the "hug me" flower out of the pot atleast 4-5 times a day and gives it to me so he can give me a hug. He also likes to give me the "help with dishes" flower. I was seriously touched by his excitement to love and help me for Mother's day!
Benson:
*He is a true entertainer. He loves to tease, tickle, and laugh.
*You can always find him wearing at least one of the following: dinosaur rain boots, sunglasses, or backpack. He also carries some form of a car, truck, or tractor with him EVERYWHERE we go.
*He loves to give Reece his soy from the refrigerator
*When he runs he looks like he is bouncing through the air.
*Anytime I tell him to do something he says, "K" or "K mom".
*He LOVES to yell "EECE".
*His favorite toy is "lightning MaQeen Kachoow".
*I say, "lets check you Benson" and he comes to me with a finger held out (usually one of his pointer fingers)!
*His amazing ability to sleep through ANYTHING. Everynight I change his diaper, check his BG 1-3 times, and most nights I have to give him a banana to bring his sugar up. On the occasional night I will change his set--meaning stick a needle in his bum. He sleeps through it all!! He doesn't even flinch. He can eat anything while sleeping (except juice--weirdo)! It's hilarious.

*He loves to tell Reece "one, two" with a loud and threatning voice. Hmmm, where did he get that from?
*He'll only go to time out if Reece tells him too. Little Stinker.
*If I'm sitting down Benson will come behind me and give me BIG hugs! He is very affectionate.
*His love for bats and balls. He's a baseball player in the making.

* Spencer cooks Sunday dinner to relieve me from my cooking duties as a mom. He knows it's a stressful and not-so-fun event of the day for me and so he gives me a day off with no complaints!
*He bought me beautiful purple flowers for Mother's Day.
*He knows me better than I know myself--when I'm being a little stinker he takes good care of me and waits for the right moment to turn it into a laughing matter for both of us to enjoy!
*He has always put me first--before family, church, or school.

You are one lucky lady...and one amazing mother. I admire you greatly and am really trying to develop your optimism so I can laugh at the little things and have as much fun with my kid as you do yours! Love ya and happy mothers day!
