Benson says Hi

I love being a mom because I don't have to leave my house to find quality entertainment!

Home with the family--plus a wedding...

So it's taken me a while to finish my last post about our road trip. So here are some highlights in a condensed version:
1) My sister Kristi married Paul Root in the Boise temple! They make such an awesome couple and we are so happy to have Paul in the family. She couldn't have picked a better person to marry.
1.5) One of my best friends "George" or Ashley got married 2 hours before Kristi. So, we went to George's sealing, then Kristi's, then Kristi's luncheon, and back to George's reception. It was an awesome day and the boys did great!
2) Reece took swimming lessons with Kylie and Hailey from my mom and sister Jamie. He was such a handsome little fish.
3) My mom took Reece on a train ride to Maverick to buy a Slurpee
4) And what's a road trip without getting a speeding ticket...or maybe two or three tickets. Actually, I got pulled over twice, once in Riggins (I was in my mini van with Reece and Benson. I told the officer I was a "dead duck" and he didn't give me a ticket!) and the other one was in Caldwell on my way to the water ski course. Unfortunately I was driving my mom's Aviator and he gave me a nasty ticket. Then, on Friday we went to Spokane and I got pulled over AGAIN. Luckily I was in my mini-van with my cute kids and so he let me off the hook!! I LOVE my mini-van!!

On our way to George's reception. The boys love to pass food/toys back in forth. It's a little game they play! So cute!

Are they coming yet?

I love Hailey's face! So funny! This is my favorite picture. Baby Jake is only 5 months old and already weighs 20 pounds.
Look how high they get!

Endocrinologist appointment

Every three months Benson has an appointment with his awesome doctor, Dr. Christensen. This appointment was a little more frighening then our usual appointments. They checked his A1C which is a blood test that measures average blood glucose over the past 2 to 3 months. I literally was having an anxiety attack waiting in the room for Dr. Christensen to walk in and give us the results. After the longest 30 minutes of my life, he walked in, looked at the monitor which read his A1C and said, "Wow, I can't believe how good his A1C's are". Relief. Breathe. Ok, I might survive now. His average is 160 which is 5 points lower than what our target is (low is good!). He was pretty impressed with Benson and said he is doing way better then expected! So, I walked into the appointment probably pale as a ghost, and left with one big goofy smile. As soon as I got in the car I broke down in tears. Talk about an emotional roller coaster. Good thing Benson was the only one with me to witness it--it was pretty pathetic!

Road trip!

Where do I begin? Ok, May 1st the boys and I headed to Boise to start our crazy month long road trip. Spencer stayed in Moscow to finish his finals. Yep, that's right, we survived our first year of medical school. Spencer has done such an awesome job this year juggling family life and school work. It amazes me how much he has learned. But if I were to remember one thing from this year, it would be Reece and Benson waiving good-bye to Spencer every time he left for school. We would stand at the door and Reece would yell "bye bye Daddy, we love you. Go read books at school". And then right before Spence would get home Reece would climb up on his little red chair in his room and watch for Daddy to come home through his window. Then he would say, "mom, it's Daddy's white car" and take off running to the front door!

So we arrived in Boise in one piece (which is amazing because Benson literally was screaming the last 2 1/2 hours of the trip). Hobson and I threw a bridal shower for George and then the boys and I hopped back in our lovely van and drove to Utah (Kayla our cousin got married). Luckily that drive was fun. The boys were in great moods and were so stinkin' cute. We had so much fun in Utah that I told Spencer I want to move there. We LOVE the BYERS and were so excited to spend time with our good friends the George's and our awesome friends Natalie, Cheri and Alex squared! I seriously wanted to cry when we left Utah. We had way to much fun and hope to return soon!
Kayle was Reece's running buddy at the Temple! We love you Candice and Kayle!!
After Utah we drove to Rexburg. On our way we were able to visit my GREAT GRANDMA who is 90 years old and looks GREAT! We also stopped by my most favorite and well loved organ professor's house--Sister Parkinson. We LOVE her sooooo much! We then spent a day in Rexburg visiting Grandpa and Grandma Miller and then came back to Boise. Reece got pretty sick in Rexburg so we cut the trip a little short. Of course we can't go on a trip without visiting the Emergency Room. Reece was super dehydrated and so we got him an IV and after another week he got better!
Ok, this is to long. I'm going to stop this post and start another one! Sorry if you fell asleep during this!!!
