The music convention is held every year in Anaheim, CA. This year we decided to join my family for the convention and play at Disneyland for 2 days and spend a day at the beach. Even though it rained for a day, we had an awesome trip. The boys thought Disneyland was magical and talked about it for months after our trip. Here are some highlights:
1. Tanner had to earn his way to Disneyland by eating a certain amount of new food. He worked on it for months and finally earned his trip! His favorite ride was the Star Wars space mountain roller coaster. He was fearless and loved sitting in the front seat. He was just barely 42" so he got to ride all the cool rides and didn't turn one down. He is a brave and adventurous little guy.
2. It rained cats and dogs the first day we were there. The good thing about that was the local people weren't there so the lines were super short. Grandma bought ponchos for everyone so we all survived and had a GREAT time!
3. We spent the first day at the beach and the kids had fun throwing bread at the birds. Then we went back to our hotel and went swimming. We all got killer deals on our Marriott hotels thanks to my Dad's hook up with Marriotts.
4. We were at the park by 10AM every morning and stayed until 10PM. The most impressive part was that all three of my kids walked the entire time and never had any meltdowns or got tired of Disneyland. It was such a great family trip-- we truly enjoyed being with each other and were so happy to be there.
5. For Christmas Grandma and Grandpa gave the kids disney dollars, a suit case, and a travel pillow. The kids thought they were in heaven shopping in the disney store buying some fun souvenirs with their Disney cash.
6. Grandma Miller survived a baby Kate who was in the hospital a couple days before for a secondary infection on top of an asthma attack. She started to get sick again and almost had to go back to the hospital the day we left. Grandma was sooooo great with Kate and literally was at her beckon call all week long. Mom was so grateful Kate recovered and Grandma was such a trooper! Not to mention-- it snowed about a foot and Grandma had to shovel the driveway by herself so she could take Kate to the ER to get her stitches taken out. It was an eventful week for both of them.
