November 2016

November 2016

Benson came with us on a trip to Pocatello, Idaho for our first job interview. It was exciting to finally be at this point in our journey.  While Spencer spent some time at the hospital, Benson and I played with some of our best friends from Minnesota (they actually lived across the street from us).  It felt so good to be with them-- I miss spending time with them in our driveways chatting and watching the kids play together.  We LOVE the Allens.
We ended the night going to dinner with the Allens and some people from the Cardiology group. We were so impressed with them. Both Spencer and I left having a really good feeling about Pocatello and the Cards group. The group was exactly what we hoped to find-- we will see what happens in the Fall when we finish interviewing and decide on a job.

Annual Sunday walk.  It's been a tradition since we first where married. We take a little stroll around the neighborhood and enjoy getting to know our neighbors.  The boys are usually leap years ahead of us on their bikes so we get to spend the time holding hands while pulling the youngest around.
This girl loves two things: Books and her Daddy!
My Mom bought this outfit for Kate. We both thought it was the most adorable thing we had ever seen! It makes me giddy sometimes getting her dressed.  She loves to get all dressed up and then when I do her hair she says, "bow...bow"! That just warms my heart because after having three boys who could care less about getting dressed or doing their hair it sure makes it fun to have this little angel.
First snow dump and we are in heaven.  Minnesota has turned these kids in to tough, snow loving children.
I was folding laundry while watching them play out the window.  It honestly made me so happy to see them playing outside. It brought back many childhood memories.  These kids are so blessed and have quite the lovely life.
Reece earning some scout awards-- I guess I should have got up their for the picture. Good thing he has a good leader to do that! haha
When I changed Benson's pump one morning I noticed it spit out a ton of insulin randomly at the end of the priming.  I thought it was weird but didn't do anything about it because I thought it was random and I didn't see anything else weird about it.  I sent him to school and he honestly spend a good portion of the day in the office. He was in the 50's almost the entire day. He had gone through many fruit snacks and it left us all puzzled at the amount of sugar he needed. It was a challenge trying to keep his blood sugar above 80.  It was a wild day and so I didn't have time to call Medtronic about it until the next day. When I finally found a second to call, as I was talking to the representative I noticed that on his pump where the reservoir was there was a missing piece that had broken off.  It finally clicked why he was having so many lows.  It was causing way to much insulin to enter his body. Medtronic shipped a new pump to us the next day.  I am so grateful that nothing more serious happened to Benson--especially through the night. We were very blessed that day that Benson didn't end up un-conscience from a low blood sugar. We were also blessed to have Medtronic send a new pump so quickly-- we live in a great country with many blessings that benefit us on a daily basis because of the opportunities this country gives us.
Spencer and I have been running together at night after we have put the kids together. We are trying to get into shape and eat healthier.  We honestly run from 9:30-10:00pm.  We give Reece a phone and run through the neighborhood.  We usually run 2.5-3 miles.  Its been a fun adventure for us. We enjoy good conversation with each other and feel accomplished when we are done.  I'm sure glad I have this awesome guy to run with me through life!
Tucker is our buddy that comes over a lot.  These kids have a lot of fun at our house.
These two are so cute sometimes.  They are teasing each other-- at the end they were holding hands.

Kate got this stroller for her birthday and thinks it's more fun to sit in it then to put her dolls in it.
Another birthday present! I love seeing all this girly-girl stuff around our house.
Typical picture of Kate in the tub.
The kids before their primary program.  They were so awesome this year.  This years famous Miller moment was with Reece. He had two parts in the program which were pretty long. He got up with confidence and a sweet smile on his face and gave his talk. He looked at the crowd while talking and seriously looked like a stud.  One of the mom's with 3 girls came to me and said, "I fell in love with Reece. I want him to marry one of my girls".  He looked so mature and handsome! But I was honestly so proud of all my kids. They had their parts memorized and did a great job.
