I LOVE it when kids fall asleep in random places. I was cleaning the kitchen when I noticed Tanner had fallen asleep on the couch. I then looked for Kate and found her out cold on the floor next to Tanner. Unfortunately these two have had their fair share of Benadryl due to allergic reactions lately. It makes them super sleepy-- and that's how we got them both asleep at the same time.
Benson asks me to take pictures of him and Kate ALL THE TIME!
There is no doubt this kid loves his little sister!
This was a historic day in the Miller family. I had an almost 3 hour appointment with Kate at the allergist and the boys got out of school just 50 minutes into the appointment. I had a friend from the ward bring them home from school and then a paper with a list on the counter with instructions for them. I gave them the iPad so they could text me when they got home. They had a lot of fun texting me. These were their instructions:
1. Check Bensons blood sugar and text it to Mom
2. Give Benson 30 grams and eat a corn dog
2.5. put clothes away in Mom's room (it was laundry day and so I had everything folded)
3. Play wii until I get home
This was a big undertaking for the boys. They have never been home alone for that long. I usually leave them for a couple minutes to run to the store or take one of the kids to an activity, but never for 2 hours! I was so proud of them when I got home. They had followed the instructions and were happy playing the wii. I have to add in some of the text messages because I thought they were hilarious-- like "do I really have to check my blood sugar", "I don't want to", "okay I'll do it", "do we have to number 2.5?".
Here's a picture of all the kids once we got home--
The kids got their Christmas present from Grandma and Grandpa Dunkley early this year-- a basketball hoop. It has become the favorite in our home. The kids shoot hoops before school, after school, after piano and homework, dinner… you can pretty much always count on them being outside. Reece plays "revenge" which is form of lightning every day during lunch and then comes home and practices. It makes me so happy to see my kids playing outside. Spencer's mission president calls Basketball "the celestial sport"-- the boys agree with him (and so do I)!
Every year before school starts I take the kids out to ice cream and get them new shoes and their school supplies. This year we failed to go before school started. Actually, it was an entire MONTH after school started when I finally pulled him out of school for our date. Spencer's schedule has been insane and so we haven't had a chance to go. Reece and I had a great time roaming the mall and got some fun Nike shoes for him. He then asked if we could go to Dairy Queen-- of course I said YES!!! He knows how to make his mommy happy!
This is my new shopping buddy! I LOVE taking her with me on errands while all three boys are in school. She chatters with me and is so dang cute! One of my favorite things is when she puts her feet up on the shopping cart and babbles away. I want to eat her up when she does this. She's a doll!
