Church and FHE

January 2015
This is one our first Sundays back at church as a family of 6!
I am truly lucky to have these four kids call me Mom.  They are good, hard working, resilient, talented, intelligent, and loving kids.  I love this picture with them around me because I feel like they are constantly challenging me and making me into a better person.  Motherhood is the greatest calling any woman could have.  It is so challenging (in every aspect), but nothing brings you more joy than seeing your children grow and develop into handsome and beautiful people.
I love you Reece, Benson, Tanner and Kate!
Love, Mom
 Family Home Evening
I can give you a quick insight into our weekly FHE's.  We start with mom on the piano taking requests for primary songs.  Tanner usually chooses "Jesus wants me for a Sunbeam" and then Benson or Reece will pick "Once there was a snowman".  I usually pick a missionary song, and Dad picks something random.  We then move onto prayer, scripture, and lesson.  For this portion of FHE-- our patience can sometimes be tried.  Having the kids sit without moving is quite a challenge in our home.  This particular night I brought in chairs for them to sit on so they wouldn't move.  After the lesson we play a game and then always have dessert (unless they weren't listening and then it's taken away). Most FHE's are fun and a little crazy with a spiritual moment where we try and bring the spirit into our home.  Some of them bring a big dose of anxiety trying to get the kids to STOP MOVING for 1 Minute! But for the most part there is a special spirit and peacefulness in our home on Monday nights and I hope my children will remember that peace and spirit they felt as we gathered together as a family.
