We had a busy and short Christmas season. Because of Spencer's schedule we didn't get our Christmas tree until 3 weeks before Christmas. It made the season seem short which kind of made me sad. I love stretching Christmas out as much as I can! But here are just a couple fun things we did:
1. My mom sent the boys stockings full of little toys. For the 12 days leading up to Christmas they were able to get something small each day. I might has used this to curve any bad behaviors happening in our home! :) I love good incentives.
2. A couple friends suggested having the boys ring the Salvation Army bell for an hour. We gave it a try and it was a total success. I think the boys really felt like they were helping those in need---and believe me when I say their handsome little faces and personalities earned a whole lot of extra money during our hour of service! But my favorite part was when a lady asked what Christmas was all about--you could tell she was waiting for the Santa answer--and suddenly Benson jumped up and down and ran to a big picture of the Nativity that was on display in Hobby Lobby that was right in front of where we were ringing the bells. He pointed to Jesus and said, "it's all about Jesus". It made me want to cry, it was sincere and humble. The lady was touched and so was I. He did that a number of times to other people as they walked by. I hope to continue this tradition-- the boys were awesome sports and it was a fun evening spending time with them ringing the bells! (plus we had an indoor location which was extra lucky because I'm pretty sure it was in the single digits that night.3. Ugly Sweeter friend party:
So I was kind of lame and forgot to grab Spencer and I some ugly sweaters. So last minute we decided to switch sweaters--he wore mine and I wore his! He looked rather Handsome in my sweater! It was a great party with the most wonderful friends.
Reece filled this out and I wanted to save his answers:
