1st day of School 2013-2014

Sept 3, 2014 This is Tanner sad that his brothers are gone at school and not home to play with him! On the flip-side--He get's to play with Mommy all morning long! We run errands, go visiting teaching, visit Doctors (because who doesn't want to spend their morning doing that!), shopping (which involves Tanner eating cereal and whatever he can find in our shopping cart while Mom shops), and doing everything Mommy needs to do outside the home so when the boys come home she doesn't have to leave!

Reece and Benson has been especially blessed this year with great teachers.  Reece has Mr. McKay who is fun and well experienced in the 2nd grade classrooms.  He has Reece's same sense of humor and understands Reece and his brilliant mind but lack of speed/attention span! :) Benson has Mrs. Brown who is honestly a life saver for Benson.  She has had all the precious diabetics in the school and has a niece who she babysits a lot with diabetes.  She understands him very well and all the unique challenges that come from having diabetes.  She has taken extra care of him and has shown him a lot of love, compassion, discipline, and sensitivity to all the adjustments he has to make.  It's tough going into a new big school and having to leave class multiple times a day to get your blood sugar checked when no one else has to leave and have the extra attention on them.  It's a hard line to walk as a teacher and she does it perfectly.  I appreciate all her efforts in helping his confidence grow in who he is and accepting responsibility for himself.  Our goal is to have him checking himself and giving himself insulin on his own (in the nurses office with supervision) by the end of the year! It's exciting to see him become more independent.

Reece has a wonderful class with some good buddies.  A lot of new kids to that he seems to like a lot! Benson has Carson Wilcox and Max Allen in his class--both are his best buddies from church.  It's going to be a great year! The boys are ready and excited for their new adventures in 2nd grade and kindergarten!

Sure love being a MOM! Nothing could ever be so much fun, challenging, rewarding, and just plain awesome!  I guess it helps when you have three handsome, wonderful, good, fun, and adventurous little boys!
