Take me out to the ball game...

Last night we went to the Mariners baseball game for Diabetes awareness night. They gave us hats with the Mariners logo, and on the side it read "Diabetes awareness night". We were all in the same section and so it was fun to see everyone wearing their hats supporting each other. We sat next to a guy who will have his 40 year anniversary of diagnosis next week. He was diagnosed when he was 12 years old. Behind us was a 13 year old girl who was diagnosed at 16 months. I talked to her mom for quite a while. It was refreshing to hear what she had to say. Her girl is very healthy, participates in lots of sports, and diabetes is just part of who she is. She was a very happy and healthy kid. She gave me her contact info so I now have a new babysitter for Benson!! The boys did surprisingly well at the game. We were there from 7:00-9:30pm and they were little angels (that doesn't happen very often at that time of night).

Check out this killer video of Reece singing "Take me out to the ball game"!

A little crazy...

I have been a little crazy about taking pictures lately. Unfortunately that means this is going to be a LONG post. But I can't help myself--it's fun! I love going back and looking through old photos! Have fun and try not to fall asleep.

I LOVE this picture of Benson. He is trying to taddle on Reece.
I made the most delicious double layer german chocolate cake for my birthday.
I seriously crave it every day. I should work on my cake making humility skills.

And then the picture of innocence...

Our family motto for Seattle this year: embrace the rain!
The first day it rained we went on a walk to the mall and then
picked blackberries!

Benson is CRAZY. He thinks it's funny to climb on EVERYTHING.
I walked into the laundry room and found him here:
And then here:
Reece said "Why does Benson have to do everything I do".
And why wouldn't you want him to follow you
around everywhere. Look at the handsome face!
Nicki and Chad came to visit this weekend. We had sooo much fun showing them
around Seattle. This was one of our stops-the Ballard locks/Salmon run/Botanical gardens.
Spencer said when they dropped them off the at the airport he looked back at Reece and
he looked depressed. Spencer felt terrible for him. Then Reece said, "I forgot to tell Grandma and Grandpa thanks for the puzzle. Can we go back so I can tell them?"

Chad and Nicki were super nice and let Spencer and I go on a DATE!!!
It had been way to long. We went kayaking on Lake Washington
and then out to dinner. We felt like we were first married again.
I just love that kid!

Thanks for visiting! We love you!

Miller update!

You gotta love this kid!
Miller update:
Last week was soooooo HOT we almost died (so we thought anyway). Seattle had record temperatures in the 100's. No one around here has air conditioners because the summer high is usually in the upper 80's and if it's a hot summer it reaches 90 degrees. To add to our unfortunate circumstances, Reece just had to be sick with croup last week making it even more difficult to leave the house to find a/c. It was so ridiculously hot, our apartment was 95 degrees for most of the day and then when we woke up in the morning it was 86 degrees. To escape the heat we would drive around the freeways in our air conditioned car and if we had to be in our apartment we were lying down on the floor in front of three fans with Reece walking around spraying us with water. We have some funny memories from last week and are happy to report that it was 64 degrees this morning when we left for the zoo!!
So life is still great. We saw the blue angels last Friday which was awesome! We had a perfect seat on Lake Washington with a beach right next to us. The Blue Angels would fly right in front of us. It was a fantastic show. Other than that we have been hanging out enjoying the boys!

We escaped to Red Robin for A/C.
Gee...I wonder where Reece got his eyes from?
TOOO HOT!
Spencer used his "science skills" to set up contraptions to push the extremely hot air out and bring in the super warm/hot air in!
